Dr Eran Amichai
I have always been fascinated by animal behavior, and my earliest memories are of looking for birds and snakes in the fields around my home. I have traveled around the world looking for species that interested me and have spent countless hours observing animals in their natural habitats in rain forests, deserts, mountains, or under the sea.
After years of teaching SCUBA diving I decided to deepen my understanding of animals and animal behavior. I got a B.Sc in Biology at Tel Aviv University, followed by an M.Sc in Zoology studying bats' life history and physiology, then got my PhD studying bats' sensory biology. I stayed in Tel Aviv University as a postdoctoral fellow studying the evolution of diurnality in desert rodents and learning some new methods. I am now a postdoctoral research associate at Dartmouth College, working on sensory individuality in bats, among other topics. |
